London Dry Ginuary Week 3: Nelson's Gluggle Jug Gin
In Week 3 of our London Dry Ginuary, we're delighted to feature our iconic Gluggle Jug Gin. This unique gin is the result of a creative partnership with Craft Gin Club for their Summer 2019 Gin of The Month. Jon Hulme and John Burke, co-founders of Craft Gin Club, along with Sarah Willingham, a former Dragon from Dragons' Den and an influential investor in the club, were instrumental in its development. Their visit to Nelson's Distillery led to the creation of individual recipes that Neil Harrison, our master distiller and founder, expertly fine-tuned, giving life to Gluggle Jug Gin. We're now celebrating the fifth anniversary of its debut as Craft Gin Club's distinguished Gin of The Month.
Tasting Notes of Gluggle Jug Gin
Nose
A lively and inviting aroma, the initial scent is dominated by the piney notes of juniper, followed by a refreshing burst of citrus from lemon and grapefruit.
Palate
On the palate, this gin is smooth yet full of life. The juniper base is beautifully complemented by a complex blend of citrus bringing a tangy sharpness. The green cardamon and pink peppercorn infuse a gentle spice and herbaceous note.
Finish
The finish is both smooth and lasting. As the lively citrus notes begin to fade, the warmth of star anise and pink peppercorns linger.
