Spirit Of The Month: Nelson's Chocolate Rum
Crafted in the spring of 2020, Nelson’s Chocolate Rum was a limited-edition release for Easter that year.
A chocolatey treat for grown-ups, the rum incorporates our Signature Blend recipe with rich cacao to produce an exceptional sipping rum. Not sweet like you’d expect, the cacao brings forward complex dark chocolate notes, which are then sweetened by the Caribbean rum blend.
Remaining true to our ethos of producing ‘proper grown-up spirits’, the rum comes in at 41% abv. This careful balance is critical to maintaining the rum's original flavour and preserving the warmth of the alcohol whilst also subtly showcasing the chocolate.
Sipping Suggestions
We produce spirits to be sipped and savoured and always recommend our customers to try them neat or over ice first. When you’ve invested in a premium product the last thing you want to do is not fully experience it. That being said we recognise that not everyone enjoys their drinks neat or might prefer a longer tipple. In such cases, we suggest a 1:1 ratio of spirit to mixer. The choice of mixer is crucial; citrus-led spirits tend to pair well with tonics and sodas, while sweeter, earthier spirits blend nicely with lemonade. For those who wish to extend their drink without altering the flavour profile, sparkling water is an excellent choice. Finding the perfect mix and measure may involve some trial and error, but that's all part of the fun!
Our Chocolate Rum is also a game-changer for cocktail enthusiasts; its deep, rich flavours impart unparalleled complexity and warmth to any cocktail, transforming classic recipes into indulgent, memorable experiences.
