Nelson's Coronation Cocktails!
In honour of the King's Coronation, Nelson's founder and Master Distiller, Neil Harrison has crafted two exceptional cocktails inspired by the event's culinary delights.
The Tarragon Martini, a nod to the Coronation Quiche, combines Nelson's London Dry Gin with fresh tarragon and lemon juice for a refreshing and sophisticated drink. Meanwhile, the Strawberry & Ginger Gin Cooler pays tribute to the Coronation Trifle with its delightful blend of strawberries, ginger, and Nelson's London Dry No.7.

Nelson's Tarragon Martini
Inspiration: The Coronation Quiche
Glass: Martini
Serves 1
Ingredients:
- 75ml Nelson's London Dry Gin
- 25ml Dry vermouth
- 15ml fresh lemon juice
- Sprig of fresh tarragon
Instructions:
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, followed by 25ml of dry vermouth and 75ml of Nelson's London Dry No.7.
- Add the fresh tarragon (either chopped or whole) along with 15ml of fresh lemon juice.
- Shake the mixture until the shaker's exterior is cool to the touch.
- Strain the contents into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a lemon twist.
Nelson's Strawberry & Ginger Gin Cooler
Inspiration: The Coronation Trifle
Glass: Highball
Serves 1
Ingredients:
- 75ml Nelson's London Dry No.7
- 15ml fresh lemon juice
- Lemonade
- Handful of fresh strawberries
- Fresh ginger
Instructions:
- Add a handful of chopped strawberries to a cocktail shaker and gently muddle (avoid over-muddling, as it can make straining difficult).
- Grate some fresh ginger into the shaker, then pour in 75ml of Nelson's London Dry No.7 and 15ml of fresh lemon juice.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake until the exterior is cool to the touch.
- Strain (or double strain, if possible) the mixture into a chilled highball glass filled with ice.
- Top with lemonade and garnish with a single strawberry.
