In honour of World Coconut Day, we're bringing the tropical vibes right to your glass. Nelson’s Coquito recipe is a creamy and rich concoction inspired by the traditional Puerto Rican Christmas drink. And though the weather might be hinting at winter, this creamy, rich concoction, overflowing with coconut delight, promises to transport you to sunnier shores.
- 350ml Nelson's Signature Blend Rum
- 400ml can coconut milk
- 320ml coconut cream
- 397g can condensed milk
- 340g can evaporated milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Ice, for serving (optional)
- Pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon, for garnish
- Blend & Infuse:
In a blender, combine Nelson's Signature Blend Rum, coconut milk, coconut cream, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until everything is well mixed. Transfer the mixture to a large jug and add in the cinnamon stick.
- Chill & Serve:
For optimal flavour, let the mixture chill in the refrigerator for at least 4-5 hours, though overnight is preferred. The coquito will stay fresh for up to four days when refrigerated. When it's time to revel in its tropical splendour, give your coquito a good stir, serve over ice (if you prefer), and sprinkle a hint of nutmeg or cinnamon on top.
Cheers to a delightful tropical experience with Nelson's Signature Blend Rum! 🥂
