As many of you know, Christmas is kind of a big deal here at Nelson’s and it all stems from our founder and Master Distiller, Neil Harrison.
Often referred to as the Willy Wonka of our craft. With a knack for concocting both the quirky and the ‘marvellous’, Neil's innovative spirit knows no bounds. Take a trip back to Christmas 2020, a year that dared to surprise us at every turn. In the midst of that intriguing chaos, Nelson's Distillery unveiled creations that were, well, quite out of the ordinary – Christmas Dinner Gin and Brussel Sprout Vodka. While the world might have had its doubts, these creations added an unmistakable touch of fun and curiosity to the holiday season.
And now, as we find ourselves entering the excitement of yet another festive season, Nelson's is back with a new chapter in their holiday story. Introducing the Black Forest Gin – an ode to indulgence, inspired by the timeless allure of the classic German dessert.
Think Deep, velvety richness of dark chocolate mingling effortlessly with the tangy sweetness of cherries. And there, grounding this delightful medley is the earthy embrace of juniper. The result? A sipping sensation that is both enchanting and nostalgic, a tribute to the traditional while offering a unique twist.
Savour it neat over ice, garnished with a singular cherry, or as the heart of our Cherry Negroni.
Cherry Negroni Recipe:
- 20ml Black Forest Gin
- 15ml cherry brandy
- 15ml amaretto
- 10ml Campari
- Fresh cherries and fresh orange slices
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir well and strain over a singular large ice cube in a rocks glass. Garnish with fresh cherries and orange slices. Enjoy!
